Launched in 2010, TheGofer.com is an online stationery and office supplies store providing a vast range of products directly over the Internet for businesses and residential customers across all Malta and Gozo.
With many thousands of products available at any time, the online shop is truly a one-stop-shop for everything you may need at the office.
The Project
As a newly setup business, TheGofer wanted to build the software tools and systems required to run its operations. The focus of the company was to run a large online shop offering a very vast range of office stationery and supplies to corporate and individual customers.

From the start, the company required the seamless integration of its online site with its backoffice operations including inventory, accounting and cash management. As a new entrant in this market, TheGofer aimed to take advantage of cutting edge technology to beat the competition and offer a superior service.
What We Delivered
Webcraft was entrusted with a turnkey project to deliver a complete eCommerce site and backoffice software solution for TheGofer.
Starting with the development of a new corporate identity for the company, Webcraft worked closely with the client to deliver the required components and meet their expectations.

Next Webcraft's Online Store was selected to power the online shop providing customers with a rich shopping experience and convenient ordering process.
Product Catalogue
An extensive and feature rich catalogue provides customers with a visual and detailed means to search and find products including marking favourite items and special offers.
Profiling
At the heart of the Online Store, a profiling engine runs to keep track of return customers, trends and activity across the site. The data collected is in turn used to personalise and improve the customer experience through recommendation and site personalisation features.
Checkout & Payment Processing
The checkout and payment facilities provide a friendly and easy-to-use steps to complete online orders. As the primary selling channel for the company, these facilities were extensively tested for usability and efficiency to reduce order abandonment and encourage overall customer confidence.

Loyalty Scheme
The Premier Business Account was developed for TheGofer to act as a fully online loyalty system aimed at attracting recurrent corporate business. The elaborate solution provides the company with granular control over pricing and benefits down to each customer, whilst automating daily processes.
Inventory Management
The company's inventory requirements required a real-time stock management solution that apart from providing core management information can also integrate with the online store for seamless and timely updates.
Accounting & ERP
The WorkSpace back office platform adopted by TheGofer includes a complete ERP and accounting solution. This provides a high level of automation and integration between the online transactions and customer enquiries and the accounting backend with benefits for customers and company staff alike.
Mobile Web
Webcraft produced a dedicated mobile optimised shop for TheGofer to enable its clients to browse the catalogue and place orders by using their mobile device or tablet.
As smartphones and tablets become ever more popular with customers, particularly in this market, the company decided to invest in mobile web to deliver rich media content, such as product video, to take advantage of mobile technologies from its start.
Apart from bringing in sales, the mobile component also helps the company differentiate itself from other competitors with mobile savvy customers.
Triggered Messaging
A key feature of the online shop is the use of various types of messaging with clients and internal staff.
Rich HTML Emails
Automated HTML emails are periodically sent to customers containing targeted offers and recommendations. Emails are individually personalised and make use of the systems' recommendation engine to select the products to promote.
SMS Text Messaging
SMS text messages are used to send out instant notifications and alerts to customers and staff.
Self Service Accounting
Corporate customers can take control of their accounting such as printing invoices and statements as well as placing payments on account directly through the online shop.
